When a single catalyst deserves its own deep dive
Signs that a weekly pulse is not enough—and how we scope an event-driven memo without boiling the ocean.
Most weeks, the pulse is enough. Occasionally one event absorbs the risk of a whole book: a contested AGM, a restructuring vote, a concession renewal. Those are the moments for a deep dive.
Triggers we trust
- Conflicting public filings on the same fact
- A timeline that spans more than one session’s worth of reading
- Client decisions that hinge on a binary outcome within a known date range
Scoping without sprawl
We write the questions before the outline. If a question cannot be answered from public material, we say so at kickoff rather than promising color we cannot source. Peer comparisons stay limited to names that clarify the event—not a sector tour.
After delivery
A 45-minute debrief is optional but useful when the client team is split. The memo remains the record; the call is for emphasis and disagreement, not for rewriting history.
